Chef Alex Reethof — Culinary Craft With a Calling
Before founding Gathering Industries, Chef Alex Reethof spent decades mastering the art of fine food. From executive kitchens to corporate catering, his passion has always been about more than just flavor — it’s about connection, dignity, and opportunity.
After years in Atlanta’s restaurant scene, Alex saw how many talented people were struggling on the margins — eager to work, but locked out by circumstances. He realized that a kitchen could be more than a place to make great food; it could be a place to rebuild lives.
That belief became Gathering Industries, a nonprofit where individuals transitioning out of homelessness gain real culinary training, paid experience, and a path to self-sufficiency.
With Atlanta Box Lunches, Chef Alex brings that same heart and skill directly to businesses and offices across the city. Every sandwich, salad, and side dish is made with the same standards you’d find in a high-end restaurant — because dignity starts with quality.
Alex works hands-on in the kitchen alongside trainees, mentoring them not only in cooking but in teamwork, professionalism, and confidence. His leadership has helped dozens of individuals rediscover purpose through food — one meal, one shift, and one opportunity at a time.
Atlanta Box Lunches is the natural extension of that vision: a way for local companies to enjoy delicious food and directly support a life-changing mission right here in Atlanta.
